1. Shipping Modes

We offer flexible delivery options designed to meet your specific requirements:

  • By Road – Ideal for short to medium-distance deliveries and flexible schedules. Our road network provides door-to-door pickup and delivery services.

  • By Train – Cost-effective and efficient for bulk and long-distance shipments, ensuring timely and secure transportation across major hubs.

  • By Air (Domestic) – The fastest option for urgent deliveries, ensuring timely dispatch within India through our reliable air network.

2. Weight and Volume Policy

Freight charges are calculated based on either the actual weight or volumetric weight of the shipment — whichever is higher.
This ensures fairness and transparency for shipments that occupy more space relative to their weight.
Customers are advised to confirm the final weight details before booking.

Volumetric Weight Formula:
(Length × Width × Height in cm) ÷ 5000

3. Prohibited and Restricted Items

For safety and compliance with government regulations, the following items cannot be shipped through SHL Cargo:

  • Explosives, flammable materials, and hazardous chemicals

  • Currency, precious metals, or jewelry

  • Firearms, ammunition, or weapon components

  • Narcotics, illegal substances, or alcohol (without license)

  • Perishable food items without proper packaging

  • Live animals, plants, or biological samples

  • Any material prohibited under Indian postal or transport laws

SHL Cargo reserves the right to reject or hold shipments that do not comply with these guidelines.

4. Packaging and Handling

All shipments must be securely packed to withstand handling during transit.

  • The sender is responsible for using appropriate packaging material.

  • Fragile or sensitive items should be clearly labeled.

  • SHL Cargo is not liable for damage caused due to inadequate packaging or mislabeled parcels.

Our team ensures careful loading and unloading, with an emphasis on maintaining the integrity of every consignment.

5. Invoice and Documentation Policy

Customers are required to provide a valid invoice copy at the time of booking.
If an invoice is not provided, and any issue arises related to pricing or sales tax, the sender will be fully responsible for any discrepancies, penalties, or additional charges.

Additionally, if the shipment includes items that require a GST E-Way Bill, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure it is properly generated and shared with SHL Cargo before dispatch.
Failure to do so, or providing an incorrect E-Way Bill, will result in the sender being held accountable for any tax, penalty, or transport-related issues.

6. To Pay Policy

SHL Cargo offers Topay services only in selected service areas.
To book a Topay shipment, customers must pay a ₹20 booking fee as a slip charge at the time of booking.

Please note:

  • Topay availability depends on the destination and shipment type.

  • The customer must provide accurate payment collection details.

7. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure smooth and timely deliveries, customers must:

  • Provide accurate and complete pickup and delivery addresses.

  • Ensure proper contact details for communication and tracking.

  • Declare the correct value and contents of each shipment.

  • Refrain from sending any prohibited items.

  • Make timely payments and retain the shipment receipt for reference.
